Position Description:

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Sales Manager and closely with the Director of Residential Solar Operations. You will have the first contact with our customers, providing them with information about our solar & storage products and services, and the advantages of going solar. Your duties will include analyzing the customers needs, creating a proposal, reaching agreement on the system costs, communicating the details of the job to our associates and providing after-sale support. To ensure success in this position, you should have a solid background in residential solar sales, a passion for providing clean energy solutions and helping families save money, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Help families save money by selecting solar energy products, systems, or services based on electrical energy requirements, site conditions, price, or other factors

• Provide customers with information, such as quotes, orders, sales, shipping, warranties, credit, funding options, incentives, or tax rebates.

• Gather information from prospective customers to identify their solar energy needs.

• Provide technical information about solar power, solar systems, equipment, and services to potential customers or dealers.

• Calculate costs for potential solar resources or solar array production for a particular site considering issues such as climate, shading, and roof orientation.

• Influence customers to make a buying decision and close contracts confidently.

• Generate solar energy customer leads to develop new accounts.

• Interface with decision-makers daily to determine their solar equipment needs, suggest systems or equipment, or estimate costs

• Coordinate with Marketing to develop strategic plans for sales territories

• Demonstrate use of solar and related equipment to customers or dealers

• Attend local events to demonstrate products to customers

• Proactively prospect and canvass in identified territories

• Receive leadership and mentorship from veteran solar leaders

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Sales, Marketing, Energy Consulting or other related degree

• 2 years or more of experience as a Solar Sales Consultant

• In-depth knowledge of solar equipment and installations

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrate very good customer service skills

• Be very persuasive and outgoing

• Ability to be a successful first-time closer

• Ability to relay technical information in laymans terms

• Ability to travel and work irregular hours (evening, weekends)

• Basic knowledge of solar sales and MS Office software

• Valid CA driving license

• Good knowledge of Salesforce

• Experience with virtual inspection

• Experience with New Construction Sales

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
