Founding Engineer (SF-Based | Fintech x Insurance)

We’re an early-stage, fast-growing fintech company backed by top seed investors, ex-Plaid leaders, and insurance industry insiders. With 200+ paying customers, double-digit monthly growth, and 2+ years of runway, we're building the future of insurance infrastructure — and we're looking for a standout engineer to join us at the ground level.

What you’ll do:

• 🧱 Build systems from scratch — Own the design and implementation of robust, API-driven products. You’ll solve deep technical challenges around data, integrations, and scale.
• 👩‍💻 Move fast, iterate often — Work directly with the team and early customers. You’ll be whiteboarding, pairing, and rapidly deploying impactful solutions.
• 🔧 Choose the right tools — We're technology-agnostic. You'll help define the architecture and stack, making smart decisions for a product that needs to scale fast.
• 🌱 Shape culture and direction — As employee #4, you’ll influence everything from internal tooling to engineering values to how we hire and grow the team.

You’re a strong fit if you:

• Have 4–8 years of backend or fullstack experience at high-growth startups.
• Played a key role building 0→1 products at a venture-backed startup.
• Have seen rapid career progression or joined/founded other breakout startups.
• Are comfortable with backend systems in TypeScript, Python, or Go . Bonus if you’ve worked with Node.js or Puppeteer.
• Thrive in ambiguity and bring a “figure-it-out” mindset — you get energy from solving hard problems with others.
