About the Role:
As a CDL-A Road Driver, you'll be responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using a tractor-trailer combination.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination, including doubles (and triples if applicable).
• Conduct daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook and unhook trailers and converter dollies from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Complete and verify required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily driving logs.
• Adhere to hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate any relevant information (e.g., delays, arrivals, equipment issues).
• May be required to perform tire chaining duties.
• May also assist with city driver or dock employee tasks as needed.
• Load and unload freight as necessary.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements*.
• 1 year of recent driving experience or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development course is required.
• Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on our hiring standards.
• Meet all DOT regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
• Ability to lift an average of 100 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
• Basic communication skills in writing and verbally.
• Ability to sit for long periods, and perform various physical activities including bending, twisting, and climbing.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated initiative and motivation.

(*Hazardous Materials endorsement must be secured within 120 days of job offer.)

Working Conditions:

• Drive long distances day and night on diverse road conditions and in varying weather.
• Exposure to noise, vibrations, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials according to DOT regulations.
• Hours and schedules may vary based on operational requirements, including potential overnight stays.

Pay and Benefits:
